Malaysian student Wen Heong explains her feelings towards the (often very wet) Irish weather, using a video she made with the assistance of AI technology.
Ireland is well known for its rainy weather, in Ireland, it rains 365 days a year (No, I am exaggerating. But in Ireland it does rain a lot, that is true).
I never appreciate sunny weather as I come from Malaysia, a warm, sunny but also rainy country.
In Malaysia, sun = hot (like roasting hot), and I never enjoy warm weather. But ever since I came to Ireland, I started to miss the sun, I realized how long I’ve been taking sunny weather for granted and always complained about the heat. Now in Ireland, I have learned to be grateful for every day of sunny weather (and every non-rainy day). When I see the sun shining, words can’t describe how blessed I feel, I would be running out from the house to chase the sun, feel the sun shines on my face, my body… it heals, from inside out. Sometimes I wish I could be a solar panel, absorbing all the energy from the sun and saving it up for cloudy and rainy days.
Some things to mention as a digression:
The pictures in the video are generated by a well-known tool – Text to Image AI.
AI tools like this are getting common and easier to access nowadays, it is a life saver for people like me who would like to create something more than just words but don’t know much about drawings or designing.
I am not trying to raise awareness or promote anything here, I am just purely appreciate how AI is making my work easier, and how fast I could access to different kinds of topic and have an overview of everything without needing to read every related articles into details. I am someone who watches videos and episodes at double speed, so this helps with my impatience.
AI is undeniably useful but misusing it could cause chaos too. We as human with humanity, should use it wisely, and it can become our second-best friend! P/S: First best friends are doggies ~
