Aaron Ooi attended the University of Limerick as a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science student from TAR UC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Aaron shares with us some of his experiences from his time at UL.
Having the opportunity to be able to participate in the ERAMUS+ programme and study in University of Limerick was a blessing. It was definitely an eye opening experience.
As a Malaysian, I thought I would encounter many challenges because of the cultural differences. However, majority of the people here were so helpful and friendly, it made me feel comfortable as if I am at home. Lecturers and classmate would offer to help me as the education system here is very much different from Malaysia. Courses in University of Limerick have a good balance of both theory and practical which I really liked.
As I major in Sports and Exercise Science, University of Limerick definitely had everything above my expectation in terms of knowledge, facilities and lecturers. I had never been to a University with top class sporting facilities like UL. They have the best sports arena with Olympic standard swimming pool, well-structured weight lifting rooms and many more. Besides that, UL really encourages students to play sports and many students were very active in it.
Therefore, I am very happy and blessed to have such great experience studying in University of Limerick.
