Let me begin by thanking my creator, Antony Gormley. I hold immense gratitude toward him for giving me this beautiful form — one that lets me experience the spirit of this wonderful university, the University of Limerick.
My days begin surrounded by students — some rushing to lectures, some laughing with friends, some lost in thought, and some brimming with excitement. I silently greet everyone who passes by. Though many might not consciously sense my greetings, I feel theirs deeply. My purpose here is simple yet profound — to spread positive energy across the campus.

Over the years, I’ve seen thousands of leaders, engineers, doctors, psychologists, and professionals in the making. I’ve shared countless joyful moments — from graduation photos and campus celebrations to cultural fests and casual selfies. I’m forever grateful to be part of their journeys.

Yet, amid all this joy and connection, there are moments of quiet that visit me too. When the campus grows still on weekends and holidays, I find myself missing the laughter, the footsteps, and the vibrant energy that fills these grounds. Neither the cold Irish winds nor the pouring rain can shake me — yet the quiet emptiness of those days always finds a way to touch my heart. Each semester, I witness familiar faces leave and new ones arrive. It’s bittersweet — but isn’t that what life is about? Moving forward, embracing change, and carrying memories along the way.
Ah, I’ve lost myself in reflection again! Let me return to what I do best — greeting those who walk by.

👋 Hi, welcome to the University of Limerick.
I’m Brown Thomas — “Together and Apart.”

And to those who are considering UL — I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a wonderful place to turn your dreams into reality.
See you soon, and fingers crossed on your application if you’ve already applied. 🤞
