Book One: Doctoral College Handbook 

When you’re just starting out as a PhD student (and even throughout your entire first year), the doctoral college handbook can be very helpful and provide the answers to so many of the questions you have!

Book Two: Your PhD Companion by Stephen Marshall   

This pocket PhD companion is so helpful for carrying around every day! This book gives you tips on the start of your PhD journey to the end. It is also written in a sort of ‘how-to’ format, which is really helpful!

Book Three: SPSS Textbook 

If you are doing any sort of quantitative research that will involve some sort of computations or numbers, an SPSS textbook is essential! It goes step by step on how to run certain tests! This is a great idea for anyone who is new to using SPSS or anyone who might need a refresher!

Book Four: NVivo Essentials 

If you are doing qualitative research, getting a manual for NVivo is really helpful! NVivo is a software for doing qualitative analysis! We recommend getting the manual called NVivo Essentials!
