Our UL Global Ambassador, Lily Yang, shares her experience of being able to travel across Ireland as a Study Abroad student in UL:

University of Limerick

Being an international student studying at the University of Limerick has been the experience of a lifetime so far. Besides having the opportunity to study at such an amazing institution, one of the best things to come from studying abroad is travelling around the beautiful country that is Ireland, so I figured I would share a glimpse of the emerald is through my eyes.

Dublin

The capitol of the country certainly lives up to its name. Dublin dazzled me with amazing locations such as Dublin Castle, Trinity College, and the Book of Kells. The city itself is full of life, color, and culture. From historic pubs to emerald green parks, Dublin was worth the day trip, and I am anxious to visit again during my time here in Ireland.

I want to dedicate this section as a thank you to API Ireland, the University of Limerick, and UL Global Ambassadors for giving me all of these amazing travelling experiences. This semester in Ireland will be a time I will never forget, and none of it would be possible without their support and opportunities that they have gifted me with. I would also life to encourage any and all international students to apply to be a global ambassador and help advocate for the amazing experience that is studying at UL.

Killarney

Most recently, I had the opportunity to travel to Killarney with API Ireland. We visited gorgeous landmarks such as Killarney National Park, Dingle, and the Ring of Kerry. I absolutely loved every inch and mile of Killarney. From the gorgeous scenery to quaint towns filled with bubbly nightlife, Killarney is certainly my favorite place that I have traveled in Ireland so far. The picture below is from when we were all able to visit baby lambs and historic monk beehive huts.

Cork

Cork was a beautiful county full of historic life, such as the famous Blarney Castle. Kissing the Blarney stone is fated to bestow one with the “gift of gab” or to speak eloquently. Cork city was a gorgeous Irish town bustling with life and full of colorful houses and other buildings.
