I have just finished a busy but fulfilling semester for my Master Degree programme in Software Engineering here at the University of Limerick. I feel that it’s now time to document some of the most memorable experiences of my time here in Ireland thus far.
This is my second year in Ireland, I spent the first year completing my Pre-Masters course and I have a lot of sweet, happy and funny memories from my time spent living in Ireland. I had a lot of first time experiences here in Ireland which I have documented below so please scroll down to share in my fondest memories!
The first time I took a walk on campus – blue skies who would believe it!
The first time I was on my way home from the pub at night – the Living Bridge looks amazing all lit up at night!
The first time I went to the Clubs and Societies Recruitment Drive – there are over 70 clubs & societies here at UL – check out the UL Wolves website for further info!
The first time I cooked pasta by myself – Delizioso if I do say so myself!
The first time I went to the Stables Pub and Restaurant on campus and met many International students – the craic was mighty!
The first time I went on the Viking Bus Tour exploring Limerick City and Environs with my friends.
The first of many UL40 celebrations at UL – it was an amazing gig!
The first time I celebrated my birthday in Ireland with my friends.
The first time I went to the Cliffs of Mother with the International Society.
The first time I had Christmas dinner with my friends in the UL Chess Club and we all cooked together.
The first time I celebrated Halloween in the Stables – spooky, huh?!
The first time I went to the Aquarium in Dingle – I found Dory, not too sure about Nemo though 🙂
The first time I went to the National Park in Killarney – Torc Waterfall is breathtaking!
The first time I visited Cork City Gaol Museum – luckily I was only visiting and not staying overnight 🙂
The first time I went to Blarney Castle and kissed the Blarney Stone which famous people like Winston Churchill and Laurel & Hardy to name but a few have kissed in times gone past in order to gain the gift of the gab (eloquence of speech)!
The first time I celebrated Chinese New Year in Ireland with more than 30 Chinese students.
The first time the International Education Division at UL celebrated Chinese New Year with us in a local Chinese restaurant.
The first time I made a cake by myself – not too bad at all I must admit 🙂
The first time I went to Dublin to see the national parade for St. Patrick’s Day – there was a terrific atmosphere and the parade was fantastic!
The first time I went to the Clubs & Society Ball in a formal suit – btw that’s not me in the photo 🙂
The first time I had to say goodbye to one of my best roommates 😦
There were too many “first times” in Ireland to show here, and I know there are innumerable “first times” in the future which are waiting for me to explore and I am looking forward to uncovering those mysteries. Overall, I am really enjoying my life in Ireland.
